Well done Ladies! by Vicky M.
"After scouring the web for internet sites dedicated to equality for women I was becoming disillusined until I found yours.
I was a little unsure at first, seeing male strippers and the houseboy and I must admit I did wonder what I had clicked on to. But after taking the time to read through it I can see what point you are making. We don't have to be boring man haters to regard equality an important issue these days and this is something I've found with many of the sites I have visited. They ofen go on about wanting to improve women's lives, yet they just seem intent on whinging and complaining... and not much else! I find many of these websites and clubs boring and uninteresting and not what I want from an improved world for women!
As a twenty something, and I like to think, modern woman, I want to improve the quality of life we have by celebrating my womanhood and freedom in a world that not too long ago women weren't really allowed to be a part of. Joining men... not hating them!
Life is about FUN! And, although I'm probably not the greatest fan of strip shows and probaby have no intentons of attending any I can appreciate where you are coming from... Showing women that you CAN do what you want.. the kind of freedom men have always had. Even if it's perhaps something thats not really for me. The other sites I have read have all pushed their own beliefs and wants on to the reader without saying what you are ... "It's OK to have fun, go to theatres and see strippers.. if that's what you want to do.. because that is real freedom!"
I hope more feminist organisations realize and promote this psychology then maybe we can be proud to say we are FEMINISTS and more ladies will join us instead of being embarrassed by the word.
So, thank you ladies! You have done a grand job... keep going with it and don't let the older feminists put you off your track. I may not want to go to a strip show, but neither do I want to knit, basket weave or spend all day in a library!!!"
